Mission Possible

For the past seven years, Evenfest has presented the popular Mission Possible Task Activity. This activity has been developed to neatly dovetail a wide variety of corporate issues and is carefully constructed to meet the requirements of the client's needs.

The idea is loosely based upon the television show Mission Impossible. The event begins with arrival of Jim Phelps who plays the obligatory taped message for the audience. The group is then divided into Mission Possible task forces and presented with their top secret directives. They receive as well, any and all equipment required to complete their mission .

After a ten minute planning session they embark upon their missions. Although the premise indicates a competitive event, the missions are designed to be group supportive and the various task forces develop a sense of interdependency early in the activity.

Upon the completion of the mission, they return to mission command central where each task force presents their completed mission to the group. This is followed by a summary talk by Jim Phelps who draws the appropriate analogies from the mission achievements. The key message is that teamwork ensures that they will never face a Mission Impossible.

This activity is suitable for groups up to 200 and is an excellent team builder. The activities involved are written specifically for each group and parallel work related activities. A minimum of two weeks is required to construct a mission activity.

The Game Show

We believe that the testing of retained information in the meeting environment can be a fun and exciting prospect. Furthermore, this activity can also be an effective team building exercise.

Our vehicle for testing is The Game Show. The format is a very loose compilation of the Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud, where pre-selected teams have a single representative compete against one another in a round robin format. Four individuals from four different teams compete at the same time. All of the questions asked are determined by the spin of the wheel by the hostess. The wheel is divided into numbered segments. These numbers corelate to a wide variety of topics in the possession of the host who then asks a multiple choice question. The first team to buzz in with the correct answer gets the point and at the end of the round the team with the most points is the winner.

In between rounds the host and hostess go out into the audience asking quick and witty questions and giving away cheap and tacky prizes.

The two remaining teams compete in a lightning round of ten questions on a given subject. The winner is the recipient of the grand prize (usually a chance for $250,000.00.....a 649 ticket).

The Game Show is constructed for each group, with carefully planned questions that entertain and test the audience. It is an appropriate vehicle for groups numbering up to 1000 people. The approximate running time is 1 hour
