The 1812 Garrison Dinner

By far, this is the singularly most popular dinner event that we perform. It was constructed specifically as a fun way of pulling together a group of people through a shared experience.

The 1812 Garrison Dinner is a spoof of the traditional British officers mess dinners set in the Niagara region at the end of the War of 1812. The premise demands that all in attendance are officers in good standing in His Majesty's 49th Light Infantry. This is reinforced by the distribution of various ranks to each individual present. This ranking system becomes the foundation for the hilarity that ensues as the entire meal is run according to the "Rules and Regulations for Officer Decorum While At Mess." These rules, humourously enforced by the commanding general and his staff create the basis for a variety of events that neatly weave their way through the service of the meal.

As a result, participants can expect to learn the proper musket loading procedure, reenact the Battle of Queenston Heights, master the ability of blowing the regimental horn and face the swift justice of the regiment for any infraction of the evening's rules. All of the proceedings are conducted in a humour manner by a stellar cast of comedic actors and musicians.

Great attention has been paid to the authenticity of this time period through realistic costuming and props.

This event is suitable for any size group and has been performed for audiences numbering 6 to 1200. The success of this event is evident by its unbroken 16 year run in Niagara-on-the-Lake .

The Nautical Evening

The 1780's was a time when Britain ruled the high seas. This romantic era of exploration and adventure by His Majesty's navy form the backdrop for our nautical evening.

The premise is an on board dinner attended by the entire ships compliment of the H.M.S. Compromise on her maiden voyage. The audience are the crew of the vessel ably navigated through the evening's entertainment by its captain and other fleet officers. From the moment that the ship's company is called to deck, this rollicking dinner event involves all able bodied persons in non-stop comedy and music that seamlessly works its way through the dinners' courses.

The crew can expect to participate in the rostering of the ship's membership, the mustering of the grog, the highly unlikely but extremely humourous auctioning of select persons as indentured, on board "cabin persons" and the hilarity of the British Nautical Court of Inquiry. As well, singalongs and musical interludes maintain the expected degree of "salty" atmosphere while at sea.

Once again, the Nautical Evening is adaptable to any size audience and provides a unique evening's entertainment for any company's crew.
